Beliefs & Values

Our mission as a United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Believe…Love…Change

Jesus gave his disciples the following commandment:

Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.

John 13:34-35

At Grace we try to instill a culture that gives our congregation the freedom to explore faith and what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ within the broad and rich history of the United Methodist Church. We encourage a love of all people that enpowers us to meet everyone where they are and we embrace the changing culture around us as we work with the Merritt Island community.

Believe

We believe that God’s grace can be found through this kind of love. Jesus offered this example by his life, that we might choose to follow this leading. We pray that all will find Christ, and begin seeking what benefits others before ourselves, praying that others may experience a life-changing, grace-filled relationship with Jesus Christ. We strive to nurture God’s children through our unique spiritual gifts (Romans 12:6-8), developing and caring for disciples, encouraging our young people and seeking out unique ways to share God’s love and grace with the world..

Love

Caring for God’s people is an essential element to our faith (Matthew 25:35-36). We care for one another through prayer and intentional action and we are mission-minded, meeting needs and providing services as God leads. We do this so that grace, hope and love might be shared in a way that changes lives.

Change

We embrace change! We believe that change is a reflection of a living, growing and praying church (Romans 12:2). We long to meet the ever-changing needs of our community and family and embracing change allows us to be the church the community needs.
