Several folks have inquired about the sanctuary air conditioning. The trustees have hired a company to install a new unit, but the unit had to be ordered. Installation is anticipated within the next couple of weeks. Many thanks to our trustees for reviewing bids and hiring the work done, and for all of you for your generosity and patience!
Friends, we REALLY need people to sign up to serve in the pumpkin patch. It is an easy way to serve the church and meet new people. So choose a shift and come out and sell some pumpkins. The sign-up sheet is in the E&A building, and we need people every day through October 31.
In the midst of our active church life at Grace, it is important that we all remember that our prayer life is the most important aspect of our discipleship. We are all able to pray, regardless of physical limitations. So please make it a point to pray every day for the people in our congregation and the larger community that surrounds us. Remember that the scriptures encourage us not to worry about anything, but to pray about everything. I need to be reminded of this often.
The scripture for Sunday is Jeremiah 29:1, 4-7. The message will focus on what it means to “bloom where we are planted.” Regardless of our circumstances, God has a calling on all of our lives. Our response to that calling is a choice that we make daily. I challenge you to make worship attendance a priority each Sunday between now and the end of 2019. Our worship experiences will change our hearts and perspectives.
See you Sunday! Pastor Steve
