One of my favorite true statements is that “the local church is the hope of the world.” This statement reminds me that even with all of our challenges, our local churches offer people from all walks of life an opportunity to experience the power of God’s transforming love. This week at Grace has been a great example of this reality. 130 children and 70 volunteers have experienced a great VBS week. For all who participated, be encouraged that God used your gift of time to offer hope to many children!
We will make the official announcement this Sunday, July 3, that our mortgage is paid in full! Grace UMC is now a debt-free church! Praise God! Many thanks to everyone who has faithfully contributed for many years to make this happen! We will provide details about a mortgage burning celebration when that event is scheduled.
Grace will be hosting Family Promise again in person the week of July 17-24. Debbie Zipperly would love to hear from you if you are willing and able to serve in this wonderful ministry. Just contact Debbie for details.
This Sunday, July 3, our worship services will include some music to celebrate the July 4 holiday. We will also offer some brief highlights of the awesome VBS week. The scripture passage is John 2: 1-2, and Pastor Gary will continue in the series entitled “My Heart, Christ’s Home.” This week’s message is entitled “Sanctification: Game Room and Dining Room.”
