We began our Lenten journey with our Ash Wednesday service this week. During a time of war in Urkraine and many challenges throughout our world, it was good to have time for focused prayer and reflection.
Starting Tuesday, March 8, we will offer our Lenten lunch study of Adam Hamilton’s book entitled “The Lord’s Prayer.” Every Tuesday for five weeks we will meet at noon on Zoom. Sign up by providing your email address to the church office and we will send you the Zoom link. Read the first chapter prior to the first meeting.
Our Lenten season will lead us to Holy Week, and that week includes a Palm Sunday celebration, a Maundy Thursday service, our Good Friday service of darkness, and our Easter Sunday celebration of resurrection. It is an important season of Christian growth and formation.
This Sunday, March 6, Pastor Gary will share a message based upon Matthew 14:22-33. His message is entitled “Faith v. Fear” and this message begins a series we will offer for several Sundays on the relationship between faith and courage in the face of adversity.
I plan to offer personal invitations to worship this week to at least two people. I hope you will join me in this practice. The more we reach out, the more rewarding our efforts become. Try it!
