This is the week of our confirmation picnic and baptisms at the beach. We have 11 confirmands this year, and they have been meeting and learning together as a group since January. Some of them have never been baptized, so on Thursday, April 28 those students will be baptized at the beach. For those who were baptized as infants, we recognize those baptisms and celebrate God’s work in their lives. I am pleased to celebrate this milestone in the lives of these young people and their families. Next Sunday, May 8, we will celebrate confirmation in church.
Remember that our last Wednesday church dinner is next Wednesday, May 4, starting at 5pm in the fellowship hall. You can contact the church office by May 2 to sign up. Please come out and enjoy dinner with your church family next Wednesday!
Pastor Beth continues in her leadership role in the Brevard Justice Ministry. There is a gathering at Suntree United Methodist Church on Monday, May 2 to address the ongoing affordable housing needs in our county. See Pastor Beth for details.
This Sunday in worship, May 1, we will focus upon Acts 9-36-43, the story of Dorcas, the woman who died and whom God brought back to life through the prayers of Peter. Our ministry candidate, Lilly Hibbard, will offer a message entitled “Hung Up On Heaven.” Supporting and encouraging Lilly’s ministry journey is an important part of our church ministry. We do this through our presence, both when Lilly preaches and at The Five every Sunday at 5pm. Pray for Lilly and everyone leading in worship. We all depend upon your prayers.
I look forward to seeing you Sunday!
