If you have helped with the Family Promise ministry in the past, then you know that the experience is wonderful for everyone involved. During the week of July 17-24, Grace will be hosting families on our campus. This is the first week we have hosted on campus since the pandemic put everything on hold. If you are available during the July 17-24 week to greet families, provide a meal, stay overnight, or set up and take down beds, please contact the church office and let us know. This is a valuable team effort!
Thanks again to everyone for your faithfulness in paying off our mortgage. We look forward to a mortgage burning celebration soon.
Within the next month, I will be mailing out my yearly request for your commitment to the Grace UMC budget. Our finance team is tasked with planning the 2023 budget, and it helps to have an idea of the congregation’s stewardship commitment. I hope you will remember the importance of our general budget for the ongoing functioning of the church. More importantly, regularly giving is necessary to the faithfulness of all Christians. We grow in trusting Christ by giving.
This Sunday, July 10, the scripture passages are Psalm 13 and Matthew 5: 13-16. Both readings are from the Message version. I am working on a message continuing the series on “My Heart: Christ’s Home” and the message title is “Sanctification: Garage.” Think about the uses you have for your garage and how that might be a spiritual metaphor.
I appreciate your prayers for me and all of our church staff and volunteers. We depend upon your prayers.
See you Sunday!
Steve Hart
