Happy Friday! I kept my commitment again this week! I invited two people to worship at Grace. Both of these people were complete strangers, and I felt a bit awkward. However, both people were very receptive and seemed grateful for the invitation. I have noticed that as soon as people know we are not selling anything, they receive genuine invitations well.
If you are able to help with country store this weekend, just come to the fellowship hall at 6pm Friday or come and help serve Saturday morning starting at 8:30am. Many hands make for light work!
Don’t forget to sign up for the church dinner scheduled for Wednesday, February 16 starting at 5pm. We all benefit from time together as a congregation, and these dinners help us stay connected.
This Sunday, February 13, the scripture passages are Isaiah 61: 1-3 and 2 Corinthians 12: 6-10. I am working on a message entitled “Painting With Ashes” based on Pastor Michael Beck’s book with the same title. Pastor Beck’s book, based upon his life story, is all about how God uses the heap of ashes that represent our mistakes and regrets to create a tapestry of healing and hope. Pray for all of us involved in leading worship, and if you choose to worship in person Sunday, take the time to greet and welcome new people.
