I am especially grateful to Pastor Dave McGaffic for his preaching at Grace on Pentecost Sunday. We love and appreciate you, Dave! It was good for me to have the opportunity to preach at The Open Door UMC and to get to know some of the members there a little better. Merger is a process that takes time, and we are relying upon the work of the Holy Spirit in this process.
Life on the Grace campus this week has been busy! We have had approximately 90 children and 45 volunteers here every day for Vacation Bible School. It has been good to see several of our preschool families and teachers here for VBS. Our children’s ministry leaders, Sheila Weaver and Leisha Sinclair, have done a great job keeping it organized and fun for everyone involved.
This coming Sunday we will briefly recognize Father’s Day, and we will consider the meaning of Trinity Sunday in the Christian calendar. The scripture passages for Sunday are Psalm 8 and Romans 5: 1-5. The message will focus upon the tools we need to persevere in following Christ.
Every Sunday we are seeing members of The Open Door coming to services at Grace. Please be on the lookout for new faces, and take the time to introduce yourself and show hospitality. I believe that every time we show a new person genuine hospitality, it makes God smile!
See you Sunday!
