What Is Our Mission?

Happy New Year! This is my first full week balancing my work at Grace with a very full schedule at the Brevard County Public Defender’s Office. I sincerely appreciate your prayers and encouragement with this journey. There are so many opportunities available each day to serve struggling people and I consider it all sacred and holy work. As a friend of mine used to say, we can thank God every day even for the problems we encounter because problems open the door to opportunities.

This weekend we look forward to a pulled pork dinner Saturday at 6pm in the fellowship hall, followed by the 7pm Triumphant Quartet concert in the sanctuary. Remember that the love offering from this event supports the Create a Legacy Campaign. Invite friends!

This Sunday, January 9, Pastor Gary’s scripture will be Luke 4:14-21 and his message is entitled “What is our Mission?” It is the perfect question to ask as we begin a new year. While the answer may seem obvious, we can easily get sidetracked and lose our focus on God’s calling for our lives, as individuals and as a church. Pastor Gary brings some great experience and a new ministry voice to our community!

Starting this Sunday, and for the remaining Sundays in January, at 10am, Mike Ferger is offering a special class on Cuba. Join him this week in rooms 206/208 in the E&A building. Mike’s presentation is very enlightening and motivated by his love of the Cuban people.

We will resume hosting Family Promise at Grace starting January 23! I am so proud that Grace continues to support this ministry to families in Brevard County. We have been partners with Family Promise since 2016! Thank you to everyone who supports Family Promise, and especially to Debbie Zipperly and Cheryl Malloy for their leadership.

I look forward to seeing you Sunday, and I appreciate your prayers and support of this church community!
