We are rapidly approaching Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week. The various worship themes and events of the week offer powerful opportunities to reflect upon Jesus’ journey to the cross. We begin with the ironic celebration of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, then we move to the deeply personal time with the disciples at the last supper, and then we experience the darkness of Good Friday. All of this prepares us for a glorious Easter celebration. I challenge you to attend each worship event this Holy Week and see how the experience deepens your faith.
Our create a legacy team is offering a pancake breakfast on Easter Sunday. Breakfast will begin immediately following the 6:30am sunrise service and will continue until 9:00am in the fellowship hall. Come enjoy breakfast on Easter Sundayand support our legacy campaign!
Our Palm Sunday scripture verses are Psalm 118: 1-2, 19-29 and Luke 19: 28-40. Pastor Beth is preparing a message entitled “A King Comes to Town.” Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem certainly created a stir, yet what would occur next was not what anyone expected. I look forward to Pastor Beth’s Palm Sunday message.
Holy Week also offers opportunities to invite friends to worship. I see new faces each week at Grace, and this is exciting! This past Sunday we had 118 at the 9am service and 97 at 11am! Let’s keep growing by continuing to invite others to join us!
I would be remiss not to mention that our wonderful music department has some great musical surprises for each worship service during Holy Week. As always, our gifted musicians will bless us with their talents!
I look forward to seeing you Sunday and several times next week as we journey in the footsteps of Jesus!
