This Sunday, August 8, we will pray for teachers, school administrators, parents, and students as another school year begins. I know many people are anxious and I believe that God offers comfort and courage when we pray together. Please plan to worship this Sunday and to pray specifically for everyone affected by a return to school.
Lilly Hibbard has served as Grace’s ministry intern for the past few months. She has preached twice at Grace and she has offered her musical talents in Sunday morning worship. Lilly also leads The Five every Sunday. I have enjoyed the authentic, casual worship and conversation at The Five. If you have not attended The Five previously, come check it out this Sunday in the Fellowship Hall. It is important that we support and encourage our ministry candidates, and I believe God has exciting plans for Lilly.
Our scripture passages this week are Psalm 130 and John 6:35, 41-51. I am working on a message entitled “Better Than Manna.” I truly appreciate your prayers for every worship service at Grace. Everything we do and say in worship is to bring God glory and to reveal the power and presence of God’s love to everyone. The Holy Spirit makes this possible, and we are merely His ambassadors.
Finally, if you have the time to help with the country store setup on Friday night, August 6 or to help serve on Saturday, August 7, your help is greatly appreciated. I have been blessed every single time I have participated in this ministry.
I hope to see you in worship on Sunday, in-person or online.
Blessings, Pastor Steve Hart
