Being a Church Devoted to Prayer

Recently, someone asked a pastor what she would request of her congregation if she could have anything. Her immediate response was “I would request a church devoted to prayer.” What a faithful response! We must never underestimate the power of prayer.

So, I have some prayer requests. I am serving on a Kairos prison ministry team from Thursday, November 14 through Sunday, November 17. Please pray for our team, that we may be obedient to the Holy Spirit, and for the incarcerated men, that they receive the blessing of God’s love through the Kairos weekend.

Please also pray for God to send a buyer for The Open Door property. God’s timing and faithfulness is perfect, even when we get impatient.

This Sunday, November 17, Pastor Beth will share a message based upon Isaiah 12 entitled “With Joy and Thanksgiving.” The message will look closely at “the gift of our faults.”

We have had several new people in worship the past few weeks. If you see someone you do not recognize Sunday, please introduce yourself and welcome that person. It takes all of us to build relationships with new people, and God’s purpose for your presence in worship may be to welcome someone new.

It is my blessing and honor to serve a church devoted to prayer!

Blessings, Pastor Steve
