Dear Grace Family:
I cannot believe it, but Holy Week starts this coming Sunday! We are blessed this year because we will host the Living Last Supper at Grace for the first time in several years. Please plan now to attend all the Holy Week services, including Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter.
Our music department is going all out this Sunday at 9 am with “Holy Harmonious, A Choral Easter celebration.” This musical treat will involve 5 choirs and our praise team, so there will be something for everyone.
This Sunday, March 24, the scripture passage is Matthew 21: 1-11, and Pastor Gary is working on a message entitled “Who is This Man, Jesus?” The scripture passages that describe the Palm Sunday procession all beg the question of “Who is Jesus.” It is good for us to ask this question as we look toward the events of Holy Week!
I realize that every week I encourage you to attend worship, regardless of what is planned that week. There is a reason for this, besides my wanting good attendance numbers. Writer and Yale professor Yolanda Pierce explains why she attends church every week, “…..every single Sunday brings me joy. There is joy in the simple pleasure of being present among the people of God, showing up week after week. This is why the writer of Hebrews reminds us that we should not neglect to meet together…..”.
So, on that friendly reminder, I look forward to seeing you Sunday!
