Humility and Service

Many thanks to all of you who have already contributed to the fund for a new air conditioning unit for the sanctuary. We are off to a good start in raising the needed funds. If you are able and wish to contribute, just make a notation on your check or in your giving envelope that the funds are designated for “sanctuary A/C”. Our trustees do an amazing job of maintaining our facilities on a limited budget, but of course we cannot always plan the timing of air conditioning replacement needs.

In worship this Sunday, we look forward to hearing from Fr. John Gerth, executive director of Links of Hope. He has preached at Grace once before, back in March during our kickoff for Create a Legacy. John is a gifted speaker with a passion for the ministry of Links of Hope. The scripture for Sunday will be Philippians 2: 6-11 and the message title is “From the Height of a Bended Knee-Proclaiming Christ in Humility and Service.” The passage from Philippians is a familiar one, and I encourage you to read those verses regularly as a reminder of how we are to live as followers of Christ.

We will return to the series entitled “Called” on September 1, when I will be preaching on the calling of Jonah, who was unique among the Old Testament prophets.

As a way to spread the word about life here at Grace, please consider writing a google review or a yelp review of your worship experience here. New people in our community often use these reviews to find a new church home.

May God richly bless each of you in the week ahead!
Pastor Steve
