Hurricane Dorian Cancels Services; Closes Church Office

All church services for Sunday are canceled. (Edited Saturday at 5 PM: Brevard County Emergency Management has delayed the mandatory evacuation for Merritt Island to start at 8 AM on Monday, Sept. 2 because of Dorian’s slowed approach. However, the church campus has been secured in preparation for the storm and is closed until further notice).

I pray for each person reading this post to have the comfort of God’s Holy Spirit as you make plans for your families.

I encourage you to use this time to lean into your faith and to demonstrate the love of God in every interaction. You are likely to encounter many people who are anxious, and a gentle, patient, understanding spirit is a much needed gift.

We will update the website and our Facebook page as soon as we know when the church office will reopen.

In the meanwhile, remember the words of Psalm 107:29: “He caused the storm to be still, so that the waves of the sea were hushed.” While this is our prayer, I have also heard it said that while sometimes God calms the storm, He sometimes calms His child. May he do both for all of us.

God Bless you!
