Many thanks to everyone who helped with our pumpkin patch this year. Every year, October is such a busy month at Grace. We are able to welcome so many people to our campus with the patch and trunk or treat. Your help and participation blesses people throughout our community.
This Saturday, November 4, we will offer our country store event. If you can help set up tonight, just come to the fellowship hall at 6pm. If you are only available Saturday morning, come and help serve folks. I have been involved in this ministry many times over the years, and it truly is a gift to serve people in our community.
This Sunday, November 5, we are collecting pledges for the 2024 budget. Please remember to bring your pledge card and turn it in. Because Sunday is also All Saints Sunday, I encourage everyone to make your pledge in memory of, or in honor of, a special loved one. I have found great energy and enthusiasm whenever I do something in memory of people who have loved and inspired me. I hope you will find a similar energy.
The scripture passages for Sunday are 1 John 3: 1-3 and Joshua 3: 7-17. I am preparing a message entitled “Listen, Trust, Go, and Give.” The message will focus on the challenge of trusting God in all situations, and the story of Joshua’s leadership journey offers great insights. I appreciate your prayers each week for our worship services. May the Holy Spirit lead us in every aspect of worship.
Finally friends, our world is in chaos, and I invite you to pray for everyone affected by the war in the Middle East. As I see reports of so much death and destruction, I am reminded that only God can offer healing and bring beauty out of ashes. Our world is in need of miracles, and we worship a God who still performs miracles!
