Another summer break is quickly coming to an end for our students, teachers, and school staff. School starts August 10, and I know many people are preparing for the new school year this week. I pray for a school year exceptionally free of violence, illness, and tragedy. May God’s Grace sustain our students and all school personnel.
Many volunteer hands made for quick work in preparing backpacks for MILA this past Tuesday at Grace. I am so proud of the many ways Grace supports our community, and this weekend is another great example. Country store setup is Friday, August 5 at 6pm and the country store is Saturday morning. This is usually our busiest country store of the year, as families are able to obtain some school supplies and much needed household supplies. Come out and participate in this ministry outreach!
This Sunday, August 7, Pastor Gary will offer a back to school blessing for all students and school personnel. The scripture passages for Sunday are Psalm 126 and Galatians 6: 7-10. Pastor Dave McGaffic will offer a message entitled “The Law of The Harvest: Good News or Bad News?” I challenge you to read the passages and really think about the question Pastor Dave poses in the message title. The title question specifically refers to the Galatians scripture. It is a thought provoking question. Pastor Dave is always a blessing with his enthusiastic preaching style. Thank you all for the many ways you support the ministry here at Grace! Our church is growing, both in the depth of our discipleship and in our outreach to the community. We are a vital church and it is an honor to serve as one of the pastors here at Grace.
