This Sunday, October 6, is world communion Sunday. This is one of my favorite Sundays of the year. I love the wonderful, diverse tapestry that constitutes the body of Christ throughout the world.
People of many races, languages, cultures and regions of the world worship God in a variety of ways. Jesus invites us all to a feast that is a celebration of God’s love and redeeming work everywhere.
The scripture for Sunday is Luke 17: 5-10, and the message is entitled “Great Expectations.’
Please pray for all of us who lead worship, and pray for God to show us how we can become a more inviting and welcoming community to people from all walks of life. God calls us to a life of obedience that is not always easy, but the promise of the calling is that God in Christ will meet the deepest needs of our human hearts. This is good news!
See you Sunday! Pastor Steve
