As I was driving home from the chili cook-off Wednesday night, I thought about how our church provides a great opportunity for people of all ages to enjoy life together. I saw smiling faces and laughter from ages 6 to 86! Just one day before, we didn’t know if anyone would cook chili or attend the dinner. However, we ended up with about 40 people, most of whom were clearly enjoying eating and being together. This simple activity is church at its best; we love each other and enjoy the journey. Thank God for Christian community!
This coming Wednesday, January 25, the Triumphant Quartet will return to Grace at 7pm in the sanctuary for a concert. If you have seen them before, you know that their music is inspiring. Come out and enjoy this event, and remember that the love offering proceeds will benefit Grace capital improvements.
Chris and Evie Tompkins are leading an “Art of Marriage” event at Grace on February 10 and 11. This is a Friday eveningand Saturday marriage retreat at Grace. It is a great opportunity for couples to reflect on how to improve marriages, based upon a Christian worldview. There will be a QR code to register in Sunday’s bulletin, and you can reach out to the church office with questions.
This Sunday’s scripture passages are Psalm 27: 1, 4-9 and 1 Corinthians 1:10-18. Pastor Beth is working on a message entitled “Who Do You Belong To?” If you read the passage from 1 Corinthians, I think you will understand the meaning of the title. I look forward to hearing this message and I think the topic is very important for the unity of the Christian church.
Friends, we have many wonderful, gifted people at Grace. I hope you are as grateful for our church family as I am. If you are, remember to tell your friends where you worship and invite them to join you.
I look forward to seeing you Sunday!
