Updated, Tuesday, April 7: As we celebrate Holy Week, the health and well-being of our congregation, church staff and community remains the overwhelming concern. We continue to use this page to share the most up-to-date information as we have it and will also share information on our Grace Facebook page.
Our virtual services during Holy Week will be a Maundy Thursday Service at 7 PM, Thursday, April 9 here on the website and on our Facebook page. It will include a virtual Holy Communion service so be ready at home with your juice, wine or water and some form of bread and we’ll celebrate communion “together.” And on Good Friday, April 10 at 7 PM, Pastor Steve will share a meditation here and on Facebook. On Easter Sunday, April 12 we’ll celebrate with online worship at 11 AM.
Thursday, April 9, Maundy Thursday Service

Sunday April 5 – Watch Palm Sunday Service

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person church worship services are suspended and the church office is closed to outside visitors until further notice. We will hold Sunday Service and Sunday School online via our Grace UMC Facebook page (and have the live links here on this page as well) until we can meet again in person. Church staff continues to work remotely or at the church as needed — and we want you to be able to get in touch with Pastor Steve Hart or Pastor Beth Burton to pass on prayer concerns or if you are homebound and need another church member to run an errand, such as picking up and dropping off groceries. Call the church office at 321-452-2420 and follow the prompts and you will be connected with Pastor Steve’s or Pastor Beth’s personal phone. You can also send an email to email@example.com which is being monitored
The Grace Food Pantry WILL AGAIN BE OPEN as a drive-up operation this Thursday, April 9 from 9 am to noon for residents in need. This week the Pantry is open to Merritt Island residents. There will be modifications in place to protect the health of all involved.
The Grace Clothing Closet will be open Thursday, April 9 from 9 am to noon, with one person allowed in to “shop” at at time for 5 minutes each in order to maintain safe social distancing.
Thursday, April 9 Food Pantry Items: Members of the Grace Family: Please use the same 9 am to noon window this Thursday to drop off non-perishable Food Pantry items including: canned meat, canned vegetables and fruit, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, pasta, rice and cereal. You can drop off pet food as well. On Thursday, if you want to drop off a church tithing check, you can do that as well and those can also be mailed and online giving continues uninterrupted.
In keeping with CDC guidelines, all other in-person events at Grace are canceled or postponed.
The Grace Preschool will remain closed through at least May 4 in keeping with the Brevard Public Schools closure. We follow BPS closures and will keep parents posted here and via the Preschool Group attached to our Facebook page. Because of the closure, preschool registration for the 2020-21 school year is being delayed, with details on rescheduled registration dates being announced once we know more about when the school can reopen.
We encourage you to use your time at home to connect with family and friends by phone and social media. We can avoid Isolation and loneliness by reaching out. And as always, pray and find comfort in God’s love.
