Dear Grace Family: I pray that you are able to enjoy celebrating the July 4th holiday in a safe manner. It will be different than previous years because of the challenges of the pandemic, but thankfully we have the technology that helps us stay connected with family and friends. Thank you all for your ongoing prayers for the church and community. I truly believe that God smiles when we cry out for help and when we are willing to receive guidance from the Holy Spirit.
This Sunday, July 5, our scripture readings are Romans 7:15-25 and Matthew 11: 25-30. My message is entitled “How Can a Yoke be Easy?” I have always liked the promise that Jesus makes when he says that “My yoke is easy and my burden is light.” But what does it mean? We know that following Jesus involves taking up our cross to follow him. it will involve challenges and even persecution. So how is it easy? Join us in person or online Sunday at 11am to learn more.
I continue to encourage everyone who is in a high risk category to stay home and worship online. For those who do come to worship in person, thank you for wearing masks and for following the safety procedures we have adopted. May God bless you and keep you close as you follow Christ!
