Dear Grace Family: Has someone ever quoted a scripture verse to you when you were having a hard time and the verse was not particularly helpful? I know that I have had this experience. Sometimes well-meaning friends and family members do not know what to say when we are struggling, so quoting a familiar Bible verse is an easy response. This Sunday, July 26, my message will take a close look at Romans 8: 26-39. The message is entitled “How Do All Things Work Together For Good?” I believe that sometimes scripture verses are not helpful to us because we are not aware of the underlying context. Worship in person or online Sunday at 11am to learn more.
I continue to pray for God’s protection over our congregation and community. Every Thursday, I am encouraged by the committed folks who serve at the food pantry, and I enjoy the visits with everyone who stops by from 9am-12pm. If you know anyone in need, encourage them to visit the Grace food pantry. Because of your generosity, we have a well-stocked pantry. Thank you!
Finally, I covet your prayers for me and all church leaders during this season. I think we are all learning how to live by faith, one day at a time, in ways we may never have imagined before.
God bless you! Pastor Steve Hart
