Relationship With God

I personally know several of our United Methodist clergy from the Ft. Myers area, and the devastation that the area has experienced is heartbreaking. I have been encouraged by the manner in which so many of our churches have come together to help those in need. Churches in the Lakeland and Tampa areas have sent truckloads of supplies to the area this week as the recovery continues. Special thanks to those who continue to assist. This is what our United Methodist connection does so well.

On a lighter note, our pumpkins will arrive this coming Tuesday, October 11. Come out and join the fun unloading. We anticipate the truck’s arrival at 4pm.

We also have a Family Promise hosting week at Grace starting this Sunday, October 9. This ministry is such a gift to the community, and we are in our seventh year now as Family Promise partners. To God be the Glory!

Pastor Gary is starting a new series this Sunday! It will focus on relationships. I know this will be a great series because in his eight years as a district superintendent Pastor Gary emphasized the importance of relationships in spiritual leadership. He understands the importance of relationships for effective discipleship. The scripture for Sunday is Matthew 22: 34-40, and the message is entitled “Relationship With God.”

May we all continue to be the hands and feet of Christ to the Merritt Island community!
