Relationship With Self and Others

Every year as the day of pumpkin patch opening approaches, I become a bit weary because I know that the month of October will be hectic. There is significant work involved in preparing for the patch, and I see it all from the perspective of the excellent team that my wife Colleen leads. However, each year, on the day of pumpkin unloading, I become energized as I see the many people who join the work of unloading. I see the smiling faces engaged in teamwork and begin to see that yet again, it is worth it. This year was no exception, and our patch is full and up and running!

I mentioned to someone this week that I am pleased that our church is active in so many ministries. To see the campus hosting Family Promise, food pantry, clothes closet, as well as another busy preschool week and pumpkin patch is evidence of God’s Spirit at work within us all. This is good news! Thank you for being part of it!

This Sunday, October 16, we will take another look at a familiar scripture passage: Matthew 22: 34-40. Pastor Gary will continue his sermon series on relationships, and this week’s message is entitled “Relationship With Self and Others.” The concepts in this series apply to every aspect of life, from discipleship to marriage to employment to leadership. Really, the quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives. Come hear what Pastor Gary’s message has to offer, based upon his years of ministry and leadership experience.

I look forward to being in worship with you all on Sunday. I plan to invite at least two new people to worship Sunday. Will you join me in this challenge?

Blessings,

Steve Hart
